Mark and Jewell Watson are longtime residents of Union County. They moved to the Marvin community from Mathews, NC in the early 1990swhere they raised their 3 sons. The Watsons have always enjoyed outdoor living, gardening, and their horses.
Mark is a native of upstate South Carolina (near the home of the National Football Champion CLEMSON Tigers) where he grew up working on the family cattle farm that was named the 2017 Heritage Conservation Farm of the Year. Watson Farms consists of 500 acres of rolling pasture and timberland that serves as a working outdoor classroom for the local soil conservation district and Clemson Cooperative Extension. Mark served as the Human Resources Director for Union County, NC for 24 years prior to his appointment as County Manager on January 1st of this year.
Jewell is a native North Carolinian and is a Registered Nurse (BSN). She has spent her career caring for senior adults. Currently, Jewell serves as the Health and Wellness Director for MerryWood on Park where she oversees the assisted living facility.
