Our Spring Gala Event, Dancin' in the Clover, the 4-H Foundation's Signature Event will be held on Saturday, March 18th at Rolling Hills Country Club in Monroe, NC. Each year a select group of notable Union County residents participate in a friendly ballroom dance competition. This year the event will have local "celebrities": Anthony Belk & Brenda McGuirt, Linda Geer, Jeff & Sherry Helms, Michael James, Paul Kaperonis, DeeDee Kaltounis, Christopher & Latricia Letsinger, Steve Maher, Dr. Anne Radke and Frank Underwood.  Each celebrity is paired with a professional dance instructor from the area who provides 10 weeks of instruction to help their team try to swing, cha-cha, rhumba and waltz their way to the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy! This years contestants will be assisted by professional instructors Terri Beeson, Stacy Yeager, Bryon Chandler, Barbie Parker & Sebastian Wrenn.

​"Celebrity" judges this year included Rep. Dean Arp, Sheriff Eddie Cathey and Barbara Faulk of the Union County Community Arts Council. We are excited to have Representative Craig Horn emcee the event again in 2017.

In addition to the competition, there will be musical entertainment by Blackwater Rythm & Blues Band.  

Our financial goal this year is $50,000.  The funds raised at this event become scholarships for summer camps, leadership building conferences, state conferences, 4-H Congress and other opportunities for 4-H members and other youth in Union County who need financial assistance.

 The doors will open at 6:00 p.m. and the show will begin at 7:00 p.m.
